- TSM Backup Software configuration for all the identified servers, which would need backup.
- Backup, restore drill and restoration for all identified server where backup software is configured.
- Periodic backup execution of in-scope DC servers as per the backup policy.
- Monitoring the backup jobs.
- Maintaining Log sheets for backup.
- Restoration of Data, as required, following backup guidelines.
- Labeling and tracking of media.
- Store backup media for scheduled backups as per customer policy.
- Maintain the backup schedules and update of backup process as per the requirements.
- Provide reports including a root cause analysis where backup faliure.
- Documenting the whole backup and restoration schedules and updating of backup and restoration process as per the requirements.
- Collect and return of media at the end of its useful life to Customer for disposal.
- Administration of server backup monitoring tools TSM.
- Maintain the media retention policy in consultation with the customer and adhere to the defined policy.
- Monitor and maintain tapes media and tape drive for reliability to avoid read/write errors.
- Retrieve archived tapes and restore required files and databases within mutually agreed time frame as per the defined policy.
- Manage tapes in the storage as well and record the tape inventory.
- Initialize and label new tapes based on the customer’s policy.
